Characteristics

Belinal® is a patented, standardized extract derived from the branches of the silver fir (Abies alba), valued for its high concentration of natural bioactive compounds. Produced through a solvent-free process, it ensures exceptional purity, consistency, and versatility across applications such as food supplements, cosmetics, and functional beverages.

Composition & Bioactive Profile

Belinal® contains a unique complex of more than 36 identified polyphenols, which account for approximately 70% of the extract. These include lignans, phenolic acids, and flavonoids, widely recognized for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory potential.

A defining feature of Belinal® is its characteristic lignan fingerprint, composed of key compounds such as secoisolariciresinol, lariciresinol, and matairesinol. These lignans represent over 10% of the extract and play a central role in its biological activity.

Additionally, the extract includes naturally occurring polysaccharides, such as galactoglucomannans and arabinogalactans. With around 90% of its polyphenols having a molecular weight below 1000 Da, Belinal® supports efficient absorption and bioavailability.

Standardization & Physical Properties

Belinal® is a highly water-soluble extract, reaching up to 92% solubility, and is produced without the use of alcohol or organic solvents. This ensures a clean, natural composition aligned with modern quality standards.

It is presented as a light brown powder with a distinct coniferous aroma, reflecting its botanical origin. The extract’s consistency and quality are confirmed through advanced analytical methods such as HPLC, which precisely identify and quantify its key lignans.

This strict standardization ensures batch-to-batch reliability, making Belinal® a trusted ingredient for a wide range of applications.
